    Default Cancelled hunting plans

I was supposed to be pulling into the deer camp right now for a 3 day hunt. One of the trail cams was showing 5 different bucks; some throughout the day. I also wanted to check some new spots and prep a couple more stand sites for next fall.

Unfortunately my plans got derailed due to work commitments. That pretty much kills it for the rest of the season.

If the winter weather cooperates I hope to get back out in early April for some open-water walleye action and will scout those new areas then.

There is always another day at work. A missed hunt is gone forever.

    Wow. Tough crowd!

That's too bad that you had to cancel your plans. Sometimes life gets in the way. You seem like a very dedicated and knowledgeable hunter, so I'm sure you are not pleased about it.
I'm going to give it a go on Monday and Tuesday during the muzzleloader season, and hopefully the following weekend too, but my season has been pretty bleak so far as I adjust to new hunting grounds. I guess there's still time for things to turn around. Despite the lack of sightings for me, I have enjoyed being out in the woods.

I do contract work on the side and am involved in a large project and I can’t dodge these meetings… others are counting on me showing up.

I do plan to slow down and take more time for myself… just can right now.

Tough break man and I can relate.

Although my 92B bow season ends Dec 31st its going to be really tough for me to make it happen this season.

The next time I may be able to hunt would be Dec 15th PM hunt weather permitting.

After that hoping a few times over the holidays. It's been a crap year for me first time in a long time, but I am staying positive and remembering past years where it all came together!

I feel your pain Sam, thats too bad you couldnt get out... Im in a similar spot... I am in a different role at work this year and finding it tough to get out... for the last 5 years I had a lot more flexibility so if I saw a cold front moving in it was easy to take a half day off work or 2-3 days off on short notice... its tough not being able to do that anymore...
