Neighbor watched a 8 point buck chase a doe down the road and across a hay field in 86A last weekend.

It's definitely still pre rut here in 74A, scraping and a few rubs. newer bucks showing up but during night hours. Not far away

Goes by the amount of daylight and light timing, temperature plays very little role in when rutting action occurs. Deer rut furiously in florida during temps over 100 degrees. It’s called “photoperiod” which is the length of daylight…
They may wait til late day or evening but it’s going to happen despite what the thermometer says. I’ve shot bucks chasing does wearing a t shirt and on the reverse have harvested them in a snow suit. Deer only have a small window to fornicate and they aren’t going to miss out on it haha.

Mid-November is the peak rut, irregardless of the temperatures. Some does come into heat earlier, some later.

In the pre-rut in my area. I had 8 does and fawns in front of me Sunday night but nothing but a 4pt who paid no attention to them. Brother saw a buck putting the run on a doe 2 days ago. Buddy also got a daylight pic of the only buck he's had on camera all year for the first time on Halloween. That same buck walked out across the field 150yds yesterday at 9:45am, stopped to look at us perfectly broadside, then carried on his way. lol. It's starting to ramp up.
