Early Goose looks like a bust
Made a run today to check the usual haunts to find a place to throw out some decoys and came up blank. Seen a few birds here and there problem is few fields suitable to hunt.
If anyone is out Thursday and has room in their field for one more I'd appreciate a shout out otherwise going to spend the day searching out the east side of Simcoe.

Not a lot of wheat fields on the se side of Simcoe (mostly bean and corn crops)...more wheat up Brechin way and north. Seeing the same as you in this area, small groups and nothing consistent.

Lots in the West side, flocks were going North for feeding last week. Maybe they will make their way down from the North soon for you.

The fields around Udney are loaded however unable to get a toe in. Talked to a squad and they did well enough

Finding birds isn't the problem, getting access is the problem. Seems every year getting harder and harder.

buddy and I hunted the first 4 days. this is my annual trip and wasn't the worst we had but close. We ended with 24 birds and would have been worst, but we got to Sunday hunt so that helped. Second day we didn't fire a shot, there were a dozen birds the night before, but nothing came to us in the morning. Over all think the geese numbers were way down. We did miss our share but not as many birds as in the past. Here the last days hunt. Sam (the dog) did really good job on the retrieves and she added a new skill this year, she used her nose to find to in the standing corn, which was a great help.
