Landowner control hunt deer tag ?
Hey guys. Question for those in the know. I'll lead with the situation/story.
So, we own 70 acres. Me and 3 sisters. My father, went to an mnr office in person to buy his deer license and be put in the Nov controlled hunt draw.
He's done this for a couple years now.
He got confirmation that he was successful online.
He went to the mnr office to have his tag printed, like he's done a couple years now and is told there is no record of him applying for the draw.
They said , allegedly, the computers crashed and they have new computers.... but.... your son can still get you a tag for this season as he is a landowner.
I was relayed this today, by my dad.
Is this true?
I can't find this info online.
Goderich mnr office. 85C is the unit.
Sorry for the long winded story, just trying to be accurate.
Thanks in advance
Rob

If he recorded his confirmation number, they should be able to give him a tag.
The same thing happened to me, but unfortunately i didnt write down my confirmation number

I ask for a Confirmation #, File #, Incident # any time I have a problem with any company ie Bell, Amazon etc and have them on the phone. It has saved me a ton of grief when I have to follow up. I do not remember ever having been refused a #.

Ok. Thanks guys. I doubt he recorded his confirmation number. I'll ask though.
Can I still get him a landowner tag ?
Apparently they said I could.

If "they" said you could I'd go with that. Doesn't matter what we think. I do believe landowner tags are only good for the land you own so if he's just hunting your land should be good to go.
read through this thread as been discussed before

Thank you! I'll shoot that office a call. Getting the situation 2nd hand from my dad might not be 100% factual.
Thank you fellas!

Landowners and their immediate family members are eligible for the controlled hunt.

Ya, I pulled mine for Dec. Back in the summer. Can I still get one for him now? I emailed the mnr, hopefully they reply.
