Hi, l have a Thompson Center Triumph muzzleloader. I recently have been having trouble with my scope(bushnell Trophy Xlt)holding zero. I was wondering what everyone else is using, I am not looking to break the bank but am willing to pay a fair price on something that is reliable. Thanks in advance.

I have a Vortex Viper on a high recoil gun that I lost complete faith in. Just purchased a Nightforce SHV.

Can't comment on the SHV yet, but I would not recommend the Viper.

I've had lots of luck with a Nikon on a 20g slug gun but unfortunately they are no longer in production

You may want to try new scope rings first, most of my scope issues have been traced back to rings moving. I have had good luck with the larger 'tactical' style.

One additional point, not to assume anything, have you increased the powder charge or decreased the bullet weight? If you drop the charge down a few grains does it have any affect on your zero? With my traditional BP its is accurate up to a certain charge then it starts spraying bullets.

Also, I have had issues with copper plated bullets, solid lead works best for me.

I ditto Marker . I’d buy a new set of rings before I ditched the scope. I have a Leupold vxII in 4x12 on my Omega. Leupold rings. Never an issue.

I'd send it back to bushnell if you can't find any other factors causing the problem, start by remounting the scope with what you have, if that doesn't work, then like said above, change out the rings n load consistently, let the barrel cool between shots

I have a bushnel trophy on my 12ga, it was fine 1st year then started throwing slugs all over. Called bushnel and they told me to send it back at no charge. They'd repair or replace, they replaced it now I'm all good. I think it broke when it hit the farmer in the face as he wasn't holding it tight to his shoulder. Point is it you try the other suggestions, call bushnel and see what they can do for you
