Default That was an unusual day..

Looked out my front window yesterday and see the SWAT tank in my neighbor's laneway , along with 5 police cars.
Looked in my back yard , and see two Officers with guns drawn.
Maybe I won't let the dog out.

An arrest was made . The Officers must have jumped over my back fence , as my ready-to-bloom bush was broken down.

    Interesting day.

PS Don't want to talk about the neighbors

It can be fairly unnerving to see Tactical Unit operators at work. It usually means something has "gone south" in a heck of a hurry. Glad it all worked out.

I would suppose they (police) had knowledge of firearms on the premise in question and protocol dictates the SWAT or Tactical team is used first to secure or subdue the building and occupants and the other LEO's are the outer ring in case somebody makes a run for it. Chances are there was probably a paramedic unit parked nearby also as a "just in case" measure. Too bad about your shrubbery but you can file a damage claim with your municipality.

When my wife and I moved into our first Apartment together back in the late 90's, the neighbour in the building next to us was freaking out and hanging a little baby over the balcony. We called the cops and the swat team showed up about a dozen guy's ready to go. One popped into our house he was my wifes second cousin, he only said a few words "Vanier is not a good place to stay long".

Even at my current house was heading for work one morning at 5:00 AM and down the road I pass several police cars and several trucks piled with ladders. When I go home that night I heard 3 houses down the cops went right through the windows just like in the movies.

My uncle was here yesterday saying the house across the rd from him was just busted for selling coke and had a loaded hand gun with a bunch of young kids around. Same tactic unit came in for the sweep.

I worked with a guy who was in one of these houses when they raided had a flash bang go off beside him . In the late 90s I had a half dozen shaw cable vans show up with the police one day they were definitely part of the force team lol.

As the story is in the paper this morning, I now feel right to tell you what happened. Very sad.

The police were chasing ( within the rules) a stolen car. The stolen car crashed into another car , and the driver of that car was killed. Fortunately my young neighbor was not the driver, but is charged with possessing property obtained by crime. I had a chat with him yesterday; can't tell you what was said, but he is definitely devastated.

It's all a big joke until the cops show up.

Devastated ? More like scared $#@+less as to what's going to happen to him for being an accomplice ? Devastated is reserved for the family of the deceased due to their actions.

About a month ago I seen the swat armoured vehicle sideways across the laneway of an old farm house. 8-10 swat officers in a line creeping towards the front door. Front guy had a riot shield and second had the door breech.

Someone was about to have a bad day. I almost pulled over to watch but didn't want to think I was involved ha.

Didn't hear any shooting, but the property was caution taped off the next morning. Crazy times we live in.
