I didn't see anything bad that should close a funny thread, but we wonder why people are leaving or not posting as much. Talk about grumpy.

No idea who closed it. I wasn't invited to that meeting.

Same here. The age of a thread is no reason to close it. And should be discussed first regardless.

Sharon closed it. There was a guy on here commenting "Thanks for sharing" to about 30 old threads on Tuesday - trying to get 50 posts for the ads section I guess. His posts were cleaned up, but this thread was resurrected because someone else commented.

If you're trying to analyze what's wrong with the forum - it's not the closing of old threads like this. It's that a thread like this exists on an outdoors forum. I mean there's no harm in it - but really is that's the best use people have for the forum, then maybe just pull the plug on it now.

Ya the spamer was dismissed from the forum, as far as the thread itself its in an appropriate forum. I'm not the one to decide the best use of someone else's time as long as the rules are followed.

Thank you for your understanding and support Werner. I saw things as you did.
Being publicly attacked by other mods is more than I can take.
I have submitted my resignation, but will continue to enjoy OOD and try to contribute positively.

Yes I closed this thread(or tried to) so it doesn't turn into an attack on mods.
