Bingo ! He is a smart compassionate man and did the honourable thing. As for who will become Mayor ... ? That's up to the citizens of Toronto to vote on.

So I did not know that mayor Tory actually solicited Premier Ford for the expanded Mayor Veto powers.
Perhaps in that green belt land development fiasco and now audit we will see a link between Toronto Land Developers and the Mayor.
This would not be the first time as both Doug and Rob were involved with them and got caught at it.
"Doug Ford Made a Secret Backroom Deal to Sell ‘Big Chunk’ of Toronto’s Greenbelt to Developers
‘I wish I could say it’s my idea, but it was their idea as well,’ Ford told Ontario PC gathering

Doug Ford is railing against Kathleen Wynne’s secret backroom deals while privately promising wealthy real estate tycoons he will green light a plan to bulldoze environmentally-protected public lands.
In a newly surfaced video filmed February 12 at a campaign event in Markham, Ontario, Ford says he’s talked with “some of the biggest developers” in Canada about developing a “big chunk” of Toronto’s greenbelt.
“We will open up the greenbelt,” Ford tells a room of supporters. “We’re going to open a big chunk of it up and start building.”
Although the greenbelt protects environmentally-sensitive wetlands and forests, Ford tells supporters not to worry, because “it’s just farmers’ fields.”
And here’s the kicker: Ford says it wasn’t his idea – the idea came from developers:
“I’ve already talked to some of the biggest developers in this country, and again, I wish I could say it’s my idea, but it was their idea, as well.”
"Ford has had a long and close relationship with Toronto’s biggest developers, counting on the support of local real estate tycoons to bankroll his failed run for Toronto mayor in 2014."

An affair outside your place of business is one thing but an affair within city staff is the problem here. I know in the private sector, most companies have rules against this so it shouldn't be any different in the public sector either.
My issue is he threw his hat into the mayoral race in October 2022 knowing full well this would come out sooner or later. That's the issue I have......total waste of time and taxpayers money done by a cheating politician.
Tory was no leader by any stretch. A leader needs to be able to make a decision and see it through, right or wrong.....and Tory couldn't make a decision if his life depended on it.

Maybe he was hoping it wouldn't come to light ? The affair ended and she moved on to a new job. So with a sweep, sweep here and a boo hoo there and a couple of La Dee Daa's that' s how they waste a day away in the merry old land of Oz.

Seems odd to me about how Ford and other officials want Tory to stay on. And now Tory is trying to pass his budget before resigning officially. Something smells off to me. Then again I didn’t like the idea of new special mayoral powers. Seems a bit undemocratic.

In the absence of municipal policy regulating work place relationships or any federal or provincial laws regulating extramarital affairs (save the Divorce Act or Family Law Reform Act which is always after-the-fact),I stick with my post #8. I don't think I'm alone in that thinking, either, seeing the ground swell of support emerging from different quarters. "He who is without sin....."
Having said that, though,John is looking pretty rough over the last few days. The stress, alone,is horrendous for any mortal man.........don't ask me how I know.
