    Default Big moose hunting fines

Hunting/shooting from a boat results in big fines to some US hunters and their Red Lake guides.

An investigation that lasted almost two years has resulted in moose hunting violation convictions for six people and a lodge in Red Lake in northwestern Ontario.

I suppose we should not expect our American cousins to know all the in and outs of our game laws but out of sheer courtesy should know the basic's. This lodge owner should he hammered because he abused the trust put in him by the authorities, I am sure he probably hunts over hundreds of acres of public land to boot. The cost of these investigations are probably not covered by the fines.

I don't understand the same fines for all these people, a thousand here a few there. Would think that where would be high penalties for shooting from boat and no license.

The trouble I see with so many of these type of stories is the lack of details, aside from guilty pleas and fines. I suspect a few of these guys were sitting on the sidelines and their only crime was not reporting it? We don't know the details to really make any educated comment?

Wonder if that includes the lodge not obtaining future moose tags(hopefully) or if he can simply have someone else involved with the lodge get the tags and do the guiding. I agree maybe the Americans won't know every reg. but how does a guy think he can hunt without a license?

Not to sure what you would need more than what was in the original link, I think you had trouble seeing it before and the OP re posted?

My understanding is that if a lodge that has outfitter tags is convicted of an offence they lose the tags for 1 or 2 years.
