    Default Large Rifle Primers

Does anyone know if any stores in the Ottawa area has Large Rifle Primers? I'm down to 1 pack of 100, not looking for many 3 or 4 would be good.

Also has anyone used H4064 Powder for reloading? Was thinking of using it for my 270 Winchester.

I've used IMR 4064 in a few calibres. I didn't like it - I found it left a lot of burn residue and I was not able to optimize a load for any of the calibres. My favorite in 30-06 is H4350. It might also work in a 270 since it is based on the 30-06, but I am not sure. It's a popular powder, so maybe the stores have some in stock.
For primers, did you try Higginson? It is sort of out your way, and they often have a good stock of powder - though it might come from the bulk storage, in which case you will need a container to store the powder in once you get it home.

Very tough to find primers. If you do, buy a thousand at least. If you try the “used” market, guys are gouging asking $400 per 1K. Best bet is find a local retailer that has an online site and check it daily. Then run in and get some when they restock. It’s tough sledding. I recommend keeping several K in stock at all times. I learned my lesson when Obama got into office. As for H4350 it’s close to unobtanium at the moment.

If I am really stuck for components I use a contact out in Albert , his e-mail is : [email protected] . He is a distributor for Ballistics Product here in Canada. He appears to be able to get components from the USA and can ship them throughout Canada.
