Mushrooms
Didn't want to take away from the other thread, but would like to know what is your favorite mushroom taste wise, be it store bought or picked in the wild and your favorite way of preparing them for the table...
Mine is what I call " Ferry Ring " mushrooms You can easily identify them because they grow in a tight circle. The caps are very small with a long stem. I fry them in butter and minced garlic. You've got to drain off the purplish liquid because it can be poisonous to some. Once drained off I love them on toasted rye bread. Absolutely delicious...

Morels and Shaggy mane, both tasty but completely different and pretty easy to identify.

Without a doubt black trumpets are my fave. Just pan fried with butter and served with eggs.
Morels are a close second. Love them on home made pizza.
Third - the king bolete pan fried in butter.
Focus on integrity and eventually your name will be its own currency.

Not a mushroom "hunter"and have no clue about them.Only mushroom i would dare to harvest is the giant puffball.
Hovewer, back home(and here too)we had this great habit of adding mushroom to any stew,or make a stew out of mushroom only.My family here does not do exclusive stew though-but add them (canned ,fresh )to stews regularly.
I see many like mushrooms fried-why not ry adding them to your favourite stew.
