RCMP official: Lucki claimed direct pressure from federal minister to name guns
Hopefully I don't get struck down for posting this, but I think it's important.
Seems more and more that the Liberals were applying direct pressure to the RCMP. Based on pass history of Liberal scandals I suspect this person is telling the truth.

HALIFAX -
A scathing letter from an RCMP communications manager released today says RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki referred to direct pressure from the federal public safety minister to release firearm details in the days after the Nova Scotia mass shooting.
The letter from Lia Scanlan dated April 14, 2021 -- almost a year after the killings of 22 people -- claims the RCMP's leader was focused on the Liberal government's agenda of passing firearms legislation when she criticized Halifax staff during an April 28, 2020 conference call.
Hours earlier during a news conference, Supt. Darren Campbell had declined to provide details about the guns used by the killer, saying it would interfere with the investigation.
The letter is part of the evidence provided to a public inquiry into the April 18-19, 2020 mass shooting.
According to Scanlan, who was the strategic communications director at the time of the shootings, Lucki had come on the line incensed that the Halifax staff hadn't released the gun details, suggesting they had let down surviving children whose parents were killed.
Scanlan wrote that Lucki had informed those present during the meeting that she faced "pressures and conversation with Minister (Bill) Blair, which we clearly understood was related to the upcoming passing of the gun legislation."
The manager says in the letter she recalled "a feeling of disgust as I realized this was the catalyst for the conversation and perhaps a justification for what you were saying about us."
Handwritten notes from Campbell, released last Monday by the inquiry, also say Lucki told those present she had promised the federal Public Safety Department and the Prime Minister's Office that information on the guns used by the shooter would be released because it was "tied to pending gun control legislation."
Blair said last Wednesday that Lucki had made no such promise to him. He was not immediately available for comment on Scanlan's allegations.
During question period on Wednesday and Thursday, he repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, noting the Liberal promise to enact stiffer laws on guns long predated the tragedy.
"The vicious murder of 22 Canadians using firearms deepened our resolve to make Canadians safe and to keep our promise," he said.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 28, 2022.

They said it would make the streets or canada safer but in reality the only gun that came from Canada was stolen from a police officer. All the rest came illegally from another country, same with the recent call on hand guns because they had a few mass shootings in another country. I guess if we want a safer Canada we need a safer border haha.
I watch this guy talk about it on lunch today lol.

Good post GW thanks for posting. I wouldn't be too concerned about being struck down for helping to expose the truth as you have done no wrong.

Murder of 22 with firearms??? Many huggers with little knowledge of the rampage will believe this, but the truth is that many were not shot but burned alive in their homes, unsure of the exact numbers but that does not suit the political agenda so it is glossed over and brushed aside to make better fear media for politicos.

Ah truth is a fickle thing.

Victims
Wortman killed 22 people, including Constable Heidi Stevenson. The other officer he shot, Constable Chad Morrison, survived, as did the man he shot in Portapique who first reported his possible use of a police car.[2][23][45][43][59] He tied up and injured his spouse before she escaped at the start of the rampage. Thirteen of the dead were found in Portapique, four in Wentworth, two in Debert, and three in Shubenacadie.[17][25] They are believed to have died from gunshot wounds.[23][54] Eight of the victims were found in the remains of structure fires.[60] Wortman also killed two dogs and injured two others.[25][61][62]
A read through the account seems the fires were set after the murders.
Guess no one is immune to make better fear media for politicos.

Anybody remember the days when you could reasonably trust what was reported in the media ?
No truth anywhere, and from both sides of the spectrum. It’s more than a little distressing

long time ago I learned there a 3 sides to a stroy. one side the other side and the truth lying somewhere in the middle. One who professes the truth has only bent the information to their own preferrence hence the inability to change anothers opinion as they honestly beleive their own truth.

Yet the original post is taken from mainstream media. So can it be trusted or can it not be trusted? Bit of a contradiction there.

When you can't trust the government or media we have problems.
It was such a knee jerk reaction they banned coffee amongst other things . You would think that from a campaign promise they would have their crap together.

So the day after Trudeau announced more gun control. 10 days later he had a list of banned guns and coffee lol.
But couldn't get it done before that because of covid. But covid magicly went away so they could quickly pass this along and looked like hero's lol.
An article from the 20th.
