    Default Natural gas situation

The Whole EU is preparing for shortage of Natural gas, dues of their sanctions on Russia.
Aside from politics-their shooting themselves in the foot ,while Russia feels little to no pain....

DO you think,Natural gas shortages should worry us, Canadians too?
After all-the ripple effect will be seen world wide.

    Winter is coming.

I believe much if not all of Canada's natural gas is Canadian content, to use that phrase. There are huge gas fields not hardly tapped off places like Port Alma and for Ontario for example alot is pumped from the west into the Dawn plant just north of Chatham where it stores huge amounts during the low season for use later.

The carbon taxes, blocking exports of Canadian natural gas and political decisions by this "government" are likely to cause issues. If the Canadian govt hadn't interfered and blocked so many projects the sale of liquefied natural gas to Europe would be beneficial to Europe and Canada but the Libs/NDP don't care it seems.

The fields off Port Alma and Wheatley are quite substantial but the plant was actually shut down years ago and I have no idea the effort to start utilizing it again and the age and distribution are other issues (note Wheatley natural gas exposion)

    * Side note: If you have a Lake Erie well map, the well heads that stick almost 10' up out of the bottom (if they weren't plugged etc, status unknown from 30 years ago) and walleye love the structure! They used to be marked by what was essentially a long 2x4 painted white and it was no bite, no bite, drift past the marker... BITE! Lining up and drifting past the markers with a weighted worm harness was a good strategy! Before the zebra mussels made everything obscure diving on them also was neat and the occasional old bottle, tool etc.

Europe decided to listen to Greta Thunberg some spoiled brat kid (who didnt offer any solutions, just complained about the current situation) and now theyre in a horrible situation - you know what, it serves them right - theyre learning the hard way now. Rely on yourself, not other nations.

Did you see theyre firing up all their coal fired power plants now? so much for being green....

I think long term they will get their nuclear reactors back up and running to ease the burden of the loss of the nat gas

I don't think we have a problem getting national gas here in Canada . But places are trying to eliminate it and switch back to electricity in the name of climate change. All my life people were trying to get off the electric heat for a cheaper source of gas . Now they want to save the planet and remove the gas to hit their goals of zero carbon.

    Bingo.
One day-when Politicians in charge would start to think instead of listening to emotions ,to act instead of dreaming up the utopia-the world would become a better place.

    Wait-now I AM dreaming,

And if you're buying natural gas. Prepare to hurt more.
