Cerb. Asked to repay. Already paid tax on it.
What a great mess. They want the money back but taxes have already been paid on the cerb. Wtg brandon.

I think they made a stipulation-next year you will get tax "credit receipt of a sort"within the first 2 months of the year.
What makes no sense is their reasoning(my wife got CERB)-We wanted to get money out to You FAST.
Yet-she received a DAY before the mistakenly issued 2000 $ the first 2weeks of CERB payment already.
So-either the "cover"up their obvious mistake of issuing money left right and center-or they had no idea what is going on with the money processing.

It was always said due to the unprecedented numbers moneys were released in an effort to get the money in needy hands ASAP. Now if one received the overpayment and kept it you'd have to figure there would be a reckoning at some point.
no cover up and obviously got a handle on the process now.

cover up conspiracy or government incompetance, I see the rational at the time and deal with it accordingly I can't live in a fearful state.

Past tax filings can be adjusted if inadvertent overpayments were made. You'll get the taxes back.

I was in the process of repaying my CERB over payment monthly.
Filled my 2021 tax return and they confiscated my entire return credit toward my CERB repayment. Would have been nice if they asked me before taking my return $,,,lol
Oh well I'm paid up now...
