If anyone does wood models ie ships ,airplanes please let me know. I've heard so many pros and cons for each company I hardly know which to pick. I don't mind spending a bit of coin as this will be a 1 shot deal. FYI I've had my eye on such things as HMS bounty. I've had a chance at a HMS bounty and victory but all rigging, no cotton. I thinks that would look dull. I want size as well. I looked at the steam ships, but at 60 cm long a bit tiny. I'd like to hear opinions of the companies that get high finish marks
I ended up going with artesania Latina bounty. My research bodes it well.an Ole boy bought it and won't get to it so I got it for 3. I think it'll make for winter fun
I bought above mentioned. I'm told there's good wood cutters n bad. Good and bad of every tool from glues to nail sets etc etc. Anyone in the know
Thanks

From looking at the pics, it's hard to see if the ribs, top right corner are pre cut or not. I use a Fret saw with extreme thin blades. Not the easiest tool to learn to use, but once you have the touch there's no sanding required. Blades are available at Lee Valley tools. It was one of the first hand tools my dad showed me how to use when I was about 7-8 years old. Still have his original one when he was a cabinet maker apprentice. You need a board with a keyhole cutout to support your work when cutting. https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop...e?item=29T3010
