If you're on a property in rural Ontario after dark firing a handgun on New Year's Eve you're a goof. Odds strongly favour liquored up too. They deserve everything that happens to them and probably more.
The article said 5:49pm January 1, not New Years Eve, and I don’t think there was any mention of alcohol.
After dark ? Stupid of course

No difference. They're still goofs and they've got the charges to prove it.

However, there appears to have been a number of other laws before that, if I had known about them, that might have discourage such activities.

Well I'll tell you something - after reading all the posts all I can say is - thank God I live in the good old U.S. of A when it comes to gun ownership - I think it won't be long and things will be like Australia - I read where people are being jailed for talking about the vaccine in a negative light - the population has been disarmed and can't do anything about it -

NO JOE THE POPULATION HAS NOT BEEN DISARMED, A SIMPLE CHECK ON THE NET WOULD GIVE YOU ALL THE FACTS AND FIGURES.
