Quebec allows some infected health workers to stay on the job
The hypocrisy of this whole affair with nurses has to make one shake their head.
They work side by side thru the first stages thru the worst of the pandemic, then they create shortages by laying off thousands of their co-workers who decline to get vaccinated...leaving the province facing mass shortages of health care workers.
Now they want to allow Nurses, who are knowingly infected with the virus back to work.
Quebec's health minister announced on Tuesday that some health-care workers in the province who have tested positive for COVID-19 or come in close contact with a confirmed case may remain on the job to protect hospital capacity.
The province plans on extending the policy to all essential workers in the coming days and weeks. Health Minister Christian Dubé said the
decision was made as a form of "risk management" as the health-care system experiences thousands of COVID-related absences.
They weren't willing to accept a Nurse being tested 2-3 times a week because they were unvaccinated....but now they say they are willing to accept the 'risk' of allowing an infected nurse to work.

Recycle and repeat the same mistakes. They originally did that with staff here in Ontario working and rotating throughout various LTC homes. They carried the virus from one facility to another. The government has learned nothing from the initial event. They can't be that stupid to allow this to happen again. Wake up people.

seem it's not just Que:
gone from vilifying the unvaccinated to allowing infected people to continue to work.....
Several provinces considering allowing COVID positive health workers to stay on job.
Manitoba and Ontario have said they are considering similar measures to avoid overwhelming their own health systems. Manitoba reported 825 new cases and five deaths yesterday, while Ontario reported 8,825 new infections.

I think this is the beginning of the end of the Covid miseries.
Governments slowly realize(probably they realized long time ago / they are just slowly acting -to save face)that this saga needs to end somehow, soon.
Chnaging rules and lifting limitations leads to: Covid,no Covid -life must go on.

Most if not all residents have received triple jabs so in essence should be 100% protected or in the worst case should only get a mild case of the flu. This omicron variant is reported to be of that nature. Cautiously optimistic that there will not be a repeat of a mass die off. Still, therapeutics should be readily available to those who develop the "sniffles". Why the hold up?

No elected official wants to see an end to the powers they've had during an 'Emergency Act'. Especially at the Federal level.
I also think a lot of the Health Professionals have enjoyed their fame in front of the cameras...
This has to come to an end...it's become a circus now and the public are tired of it.

Yes, fire or lay off workers for not getting the shots, when they could have continued with a testing program, what could possibly go wrong ???!!! Did the powers that be not realize they were causing a shortage of health care workers ???
So it progresses from,”no you can’t keep working because you need to be tested regularly”, to, “Come back to work even if you are infected because we are short staffed.”……somebody needs to lose their job….

It might be the most contagious virus to date now . So they say let's keep working with this virus that we crushed the economy from. Endless restrictions now it's ok?
