Saw a whole bunch of folks driving in town today, by themselves in the car/truck, wearing a mask...yes people are scared silly due to the fear-mongering on the nightly news.

Maybe,just a maybe-we will benefit from Covid?
Covid triggered changes in our society???
All the ignorant, underinformed, gulliable, non participating and lay back woters perhaps will one day open their eyes, and smell the roses?

Pretty sad today when we seem to have an ongoing contest amongst people trying to show who is most afraid.

Not interested in slamming anyone but I do think there’s more to this doom and gloom some people see more than others. Maybe there’s a name for it, but I’m not sure.
An example. Do you know when your car shopping and looking into a certain brand for awhile. You read up on it and research it. The very idea of the car imbeds itself in your memory to the point that you begin to notice that car everywhere you go. It stands out like a sore thumb.
I’m beginning to wonder if that’s what’s going on with this belief of some thinking that there is hysteria, fear, pandemonium, etc.
Maybe I’m living life with horse blinders on, but today while I was out and about I saw people at coffee shops laughing and relaxing. I saw frantic shoppers trying to fill last minute Christmas ideas. I saw restaurants serving patrons. Happy go lucky people at beer and liquor stores. Kids playing in the snow while parents chatted. Joggers out running. What I’m getting at, is that these are all normal activities. Other than seeing masks on the majority of people, nothing much has changed.
I don’t see people hiding in bunkers waiting for doomsday. Just ordinary folks continuing to live there lives. Maybe I’m an optimist and see the good nature in everyone. But maybe that’s the brand that sticks out for me like a sore thumb.

Didn't happen to walk by 1500 people wearing masks outside in the cold standing 2 meters apart in a line 1.4 km long around 3 city blocks waiting for 5 hrs to get a FREE Rapid test to tell them they're sick or not did you ????
That's called the fear of your so called 'Doomsday'.
The good news is that those others you saw carrying on like life was almost normal having a few good laughs, with no mask on, drinking a cup a coffee with friends at least let you know that all of humanity hasn't totally lost their sanity.
I guess it depends on which group your in as to how you see the world these days.

There's certainly merit in your observations. I,too, notice people who are simply doing their thing electing to not live their lives in fear. My thoughts are that those folks have the good sense to not get caught up in the hoopla, ignore media "spin" and fearmongering sensationalism realizing more and more that there's vast improvement from even a year ago and are carrying on. Those are the folks you'll find I and my family and friends associating with. As for all the folks who are in full panic mode lining up for test kits,if it makes you feel better, have at 'er. Different strokes for different folks.

Forget all what we hear from the media and the "other side" in terms of info, stats, projections, etc. Ask anyone how many people they know that died and almost every single person (with the exception of healthcare staff witnessing deaths because they are right there in it) will say they know two, one or zero deaths. Some people will inappropriately call the virus serious because of that one or two people and are associating the emotional ties to them with severity of the spread. In reality, there are 10 million people in the Golden Horseshoe and we've had I think 15000 deaths in Ontario? Modern living means we are stacked on top of each other like pancakes compared to less density and population of cities before condos and apartment buildings. 30000 people live in the buildings at the corner of Parliament and Wellesley. Costco and Walmart probably has 5000 to 10000 visitors a day. On top of that, most people know only 5 to 10 people who contracted it. Canada's population is 34000000. Deaths are over 30000. That means the death rate is 0.008%. Fill me in if that calculation is wrong. Regions with highest doses have the most positives. The tester gives false positives. See the video of the inventor saying that himself, therefore the tester can't be used for this and that the head med guy down south is a fraud. Coincidentally, the inventor died in late 2019

Geez I wonder what got him? Yes I heard about the PCR test not being reliable and that it is to be replaced as of Jan.04 with a Bill Gates George Soros collaborated new testing system.
