Gibson's was a big chain in the US mid 60's to late 70's, so somewhere in that decade.

Got a nylon 66 plus the original box of shells that was bought with it sitting in my gun cabinet, next door neighbors wife gave it to me when he passed suddenly from a series of strokes, he was a career armed forces guy and had bought it in Germany away back when and only fired a few shot out of it. After he died I looked after her grass and snow removal and one day she just walked across the yard with this gun and said you might as well have this if its worth anything, I tried to explain to her that it was probably worth 5 or 6 hundred dollars but she said she didn't care she just wanted me to have it, she has now passed on so the story ends, maybe one of these days I will take it up to Epps and see what I can deal it for

Not on that list but these are our tested and may I add proven deer guns.. The Marlin is a bit newer but the Model 94 has a serial number from 1902-1903. Still shoots straight and brings deer down!IMG_6547.jpg

The Marlin pictured is not a 336A; a 336A has a 24-inch barrel and half magazine, but I do have one of those, in .30-30 Ackley, and it's on my "never-sell" list.
I also have an H&R 158 Topper shotgun, in 20 gauge. Bought used, and the ejector rod is pooched and irreplaceable.
I have a Mossberg 500 that I bought new in about 1993.
And my brother has the Remington Nylon 66, but clip-fed. And it still works like a dream.

When I was a kid there was a big box under the Christmas tree for me. The cardboard box inside was marked Black and Decker Workmate, which was new thing then. Some may remember the TV commercial that advertised it, which my father kept pointing out to me. Frankly, I was disappointed to get THAT for Christmas.
When I opened the box, there was a brand new Nylon 66 inside. I still have it. A lot of racoons wish I had gotten the workmate instead....
