Gilroy at only planting 8 million trees this year at that rate my grand kids will grow up and have grand kids. Even if Trudeau could manage 100 million trees a year it would take 20 years. Canada would have to import double the amount of seasonal workers from other countries. Technically it's impossible. The Math says so, something Trudeau has never grasped.

Buddy of mine made a call and offered up a chunk of his land for the program, he is getting trees but at what cost?
Cost 1, brush hog the entire area of planting, makes sense.
Cost 2, sign a contract that covers permission for many years for others to enter your property to "check on" the trees.
3, you do not get to choose what trees you want, you are given a list of what will be planted.
4, they come in with a strong non selective herbicide and wipe out everything in the planting area.
The last one made me chuckle as the weeds, grasses and Tag Alder will process far more air than the trees being planted anyhow.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

Lets wait until the end of 2030 and see what total we have, if the Liberals are still in power they would have to face the music, if they are not then another government coming into power would cancel the programme like the Conservatives would do and they would take the blame.

The Forest Management Tax Incentive Programme in Ontario basically makes this Federal programme a little redundant in relation to private land. Forestry companies usually re planted their own trees. So the only benefit I see in Ontario is Crown land being planted.
But that Crown land is also cut right now by private companies and they should be made to re plant.
If any Conservative politician in Ontario was paying attention to this stuff they could have pointed this out. But atlas they are all sleeping at the wheel. Can you blame the Liberals for the other side not being a watchdog................

Failures at Truth and failures at math, so that would make them incompetent, liars or corrupt ... or all or a combination of them. that's Justlied Trudeau.
"Wilson-Raybould says she's mad at herself now for having once thought Trudeau is an 'honest and good person, when, in truth, he would so casually lie to the public' "
Liberal "truth" / math in those 4 years it would add up to about an $80B lie

How out of touch are the Liberals..
Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson on Thursday launched a recruitment drive to find tree planters —
including farmers, Indigenous communities and non-profit organizations — to plant millions of extra trees a year.
The move follows sharp criticism of delays in the tree-planting plan which was promised by the Prime Minister during the 2019 election campaign.
They just gave every working-age Indigenous person $40K cash......you think they will get off the couch any time soon to plant trees ....HaHa..
How about making all those people who ripped off the taxpayers under the CERB program work off the money they stole...
Time to set up some Gulag Work camps for Tax cheats...

Truth of the matter is that ClearCase are relatively uncommon in Central and Southern Ontario. Our topography allows for selective three stage harvesting and natural regeneration. The idea around these parts is to mimic a wildfire when harvesting timber as that is what a healthy forest requires.
BC is all together different and there's no real way to log without strip cutting, Northern Ontario falls into the same category.
Head east of Quebec and almost everything logged is planted as it's all private land and mostly owned by 4 companies. Land that won't grow potatoes will grow spruce quite well.
The only real reason to plant trees in a forested area is to try and change the species that grow there.
