Default Good news on anti-viral procurement

"On Friday, federal Procurement Minister Filomena Tassi revealed that Canada has signed agreements to buy 1.5 million courses of antiviral treatment for those who become infected with COVID-19."

"Pfizer submitted a request for Health Canada approval earlier this week, a Canadian Press story explains. Canada has also purchased 500,000 courses of Merck's oral antiviral treatment for COVID-19, with the option to purchase another 500,000 once Health Canada approves the drug.
"These are drugs that would be given to someone who is suffering from COVID-19 and hopefully help them get better sooner and not suffer serious outcomes."

"Merck's clinical trial showed a 50 per cent reduced risk of hospitalization or death compared to placebo patients with mild or moderate COVID-19, Canadian Press added."
"That we are diversifying our efforts in tackling COVID-19 should be considered good news by all."

"Those valiant doctors treating patients with COVID-19 had already learned better techniques to care for people. Then vaccines were made available, which appear to have gone a long way in reducing hospitalizations and deaths."

"Now we are seeing more drugs rolled out to help people suffering from symptoms. There are other treatments currently available or in the trial process, and we hope our government gives serious consideration to approve and make available a wide array of treatments."

"While the idea of eliminating COVID-19 seemed like a good one, we now know that's not going to happen. This is destined to be an endemic illness that sticks around for a very long time."

"That doesn't mean we continually overreact based on case numbers or the arrival of new variants. It means we embrace the innovation and technology that is enabling us to learn to live with the virus."

The MSM sure aren't celebrating the approval of the Merck's 'Pill....it seems like a foreign concept to them.. 'treat the symptoms of the virus infection instead of using vaccines' ..blasphemy

The pill will be the life changer going forward.

Eventually, with the 5th wave of the Omicron variant about to sweep the globe, they're going to have to admit that trying to stop the virus infections is pointless and costly in terms of economics and mental health.

With more the 96% of people who catch the Covid virus and recover without the need for medical intervention, it'll be far better to just treat those infected with antiviral treatments ie: the people with age-related disease, autoimmune or comorbidity issues.

With almost 100% of the Omicron infections in QR code carrying double vaxxed travelers...someone needs to re-think their overall pandemic planning.

I know, and 20,000 of them are going to sit together shoulder to shoulder in a stadium to watch a football game.
