That's why the solution is to not wear one at all

I'm finally seeing more and more people without masks and it's great. Even government places like Service Canada / Service Ontario don't care. They must have been peppered with human rights complaints.

Masks will never be 100% fool proof, there's so many factors, we all know that ... I think it is obvious.
But to say they don't help, or work at all ... I would be reluctant to say that.

If they didn't, hospitals wouldn't use them ... it's a major cost, and a pain.

As others have pointed out above, coupled with other practices ... like distancing and disinfecting surfaces, washing hands,
all these things work to reduce the likelihood of transmission.

Perhaps we can flip this around ... if someone was unknowingly sick, in your vicinity ... would you rather that person be wearing a properly fitted N95 mask or not?

Wearing a mask while your sick can't be good for you. They are just putting more virus back into their body. Yuck lol.

Your supposed to expel it not breath it back in.

No real difference between cases between England and Scotland also shows a chart for mask less Sweden .
Some data from a Oxford professor.

    From your link:

"Naismith’s verdict on face masks is backed up by UK government SAGE adviser Dr Colin Axon, who dismissed masks as “comfort blankets” that do virtually nothing, noting that the COVID-19 virus particle is up to 5,000 times smaller than the holes in the mask."

People can be asymptomatic ... so they won't be coughing, sneezing or anything.
I expect that if someone is really sick, they wouldn't be out and about, but either in bed or hospital.
