Default Air travel industry emissions fall outside scope of COP26 agreement

So, one of the worse single contributors to GHG emmisons on the planet, is the Airline industry ...but they going to be exempt from efforts to reduce GHG them......their solution, telling us not to travel so much...

Reducing the amount of carbon emissions created by the airline industry won’t be on the agenda at the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference, known as COP26. Redmond Shannon explains why, and when the sector may need to start making changes.

The global aviation industry produces around 2% of all human-induced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Aviation is responsible for 12% of CO2 emissions from all transports sources, compared to 74% from road transport.
-One return flight from Montreal to London emits as much carbon emissions as heating a European home for an entire year.

-If the aviation sector were a nation, it would be among the top 10 global emitters. It is responsible for 12 per cent of transportation emissions.

-The global tourism industry is responsible for eight per cent of global emissions — more than the construction industry!

-Airline flying is going up five per cent a year but efficiency improvements have only increased by one to two per cent.

-Airline emissions make up a little more than three per cent of total emissions in Canada.

-The total carbon impact of a single flight is so high that avoiding just one trip can be equivalent to going (gasoline) car-free for a year.

Makes me think that sucking my Ice Cap up thru a paper straw that falls part 1/2 way thru the drink is a rather futile effort on my behalf HaHa..

What a bunch of hypocrites !!
