Went to an e-car show once..most of the cars there had a little Honda generator in the trunk for emergencies. I didn't see anything special about them, but I didn't ask.

I can just see the traffic jams when a few people "forgot" to recharge and late for work or going to the cottage on friday night and your energizer bunny is giving up the ghost, A/C running full tilt, traffic not moving, lol.

I smell the whole electric car scheme as a way to control the movement of people and to pack people into cities.

Like every other emerging technology, eventually e-vehicles will be a "thing" the same way internal combustion engines became a "thing" at the turn of the 20th century. For sure, though, before that happens, most of us will have been pushing up daisies for a long time.

Plenty of cars/trucks coming off lease. Those leasing would be crazy to just hand back the vehicle.
Most would be able to pay off the settlement on the lease, and turn around and sell for about $10k to $15k more
than the settlement value.

I'm OK with that. I live in a small town.

Until one day your electricity alotment runs out, because large city dwellers get double of a small city.
Then there is an issue of someone controlling where the people live by creating suggestive conditions. You may be ok today but not seeing the big picture will cost you in the future.

At my age I won't be around long enough to worry about it. Let the younger me first generation figure it out.

Speaking of nutty prices...saw this ad on FB:
$6,500 · OTTAWA, ON
2004 Dodge Ram 1500
Dodge Ram Plow truck As is condition. Good tires and Brakes, box is dented but no rust it was replaced with a take off box. Cab is usual Dodge rust corners and rockers, engine has typical hemi tick from broken manifold bolts.
7 foot Curtis poly plow, i bought that new 5 years ago and i only use it for my own driveway.
If its listed its avalable, low ballers will be ignored i dont need to sell it.

Wait until you see what's going to happen with the battery prices, if they stick with the current chemistry.
Nickel and cobalt shortages will send the prices sky high.
