A bit odd to start enforcing this 15 years in. Is this in the rules of conduct?

    COMMUNITY RULES:

The following rules will be enforced. Violation will lead to temporary or permanent expulsion from the site.

    1. Any discussion and promotion of illegal actives or information that is deliberately misleading or any discussion of activities that are in violation of the Fish and Hunting regulations as set forth by the Ontario Ministry of Natural resources.

    2. Controversial, religious or political threads deemed inappropriate or needlessly provocative will be removed without warning.

3(a). Personal insults, inappropriate or offensive content, the incitement of violence, or disrupting behaviours, which are detrimental to discussions in the forum will not be tolerated.

In case you are uncertain as to what defines inappropriate content, a simple test is to ask yourself the following questions when you make a post:

    A) Is this message outdoor-related? (with the exception of the Off Topic forum)
    B) Is this message something that most members would like to read?
    C) Does this message add value to this forum?
    D) Is this something I would say to a person face-to-face?

If you cannot answer yes to any of these questions, please reconsider posting your message.
Please note that this also includes complaints about other forum users, question to site admin, etc. All comments of this nature are to be e-mailed to: [email protected]. As usual, we also encourage all users to immediately contact a moderator if and when they read an objectionable message or to use the report a thread option ( the exclamation mark icon on the left side below the user’s avatar and post count).

3(b). Personal attacks on members, cyber bullying, libel comments or bashing/slandering of businesses, organizations, individuals or corporations will not be tolerated. Threads deemed to be an attempt to "stir the pot" or are looking for support on their attack will be removed. If you have an issue with a particular organization, business or corporation, please contact them directly. If you have an issue with a particular member, please contact the administrator or a moderator.

there are rules in place on this forum.

if your argument is freedom of speech sure say whatever you want. doesnt mean it wont be removed by the people who volunteer to mod this forum and who are enforcing the rules of the ones who created the forum.

if your argument is about he got his post moved or removed and he didnt, volunteer to be a mod to help them out. if im not mistaken theres 1 active mod on here and 1 active admin. if you think theyre going to catch everything youre sadly mistaken, thats nothing towards the mod and admin but just the lack of them.

Depends what side of the fence you swing from Bowjob. It wasn't so long ago the arson of churches, railways was spoke about on here by certain members as justified along with the defacing and destruction of historical sights and statues. Would seem for a certain group on here there is no isssue justifying and supporting hate crimes while others are suspended for such acts.

Fair enough, there's also members here who slander others and stir the pot more often than not when others don't agree with them but they're still here. So I get what your saying.

At the end of the day its up to the mods and admins.

You could always put a complaint in via email if some of you are that upset.

It should be no different on here, imagine an 'administrator' sitting at the end of the table constantly telling people to stay on topic. It will stifle the conversation and participation will drop if posts are constantly removed without just reasons being provided.

Trolls....as many have preached but few follow....just ignore them and deprive them of the attention they seek.
Mike that's why I said "should the OP desire" and a mod would have to agree. Sure some threads take twists and turns as a normal course but I'm talking about when threads get hijacked and taken totally off course on purpose by those just looking to stir the pot.

I look at 'Trolling' (stirring the pot) as a whole different thing than Hijacking and understand that is why they have separate rules for them. Hijacking is steering a topic of course by changing the topic. Trolling is posting antagonistic nonsense to instigate an argument, which leads to the thread losing any value and it gets locked down.

Where as, going off-topic usually causes the thread to go down the Rabbit hole and ends up who knows where but everyone has had a good time getting there...including the OP. Haha.

edit add: In this particular case Joe was talking about Rabies Vaccine and it morphed into comments about vaccines in general. The MOD apparently took it upon himself to remove comments not related to Rabies..or...because they were Covid related.

What actually happened was a report was file requiring that I look into the thread. I reviewed the thread inwhich Joe was talking specifically about Raibes Vaccine. The thread was immediately hijacked steering the topic off course by changing the topic to a Covid discussion.
To get it back on tract yes I removed the covid comments with the encouragement for those that wanted to discuss covid/rabbies to start a thread in the designated forum for such discussion.
Thus allowing those who wanted to continue on the Covid tract to discuss further whereas those who did not could carry on the rabies discussion.
Compromise is aking to respect for me atleast.

Sorry-but all in all,it seems more as a censorship then moderating. No offence.
On a top-encouraging bleeding hearts to snitch(while it is their right-magnitude of the"offence"should be taken in consideration)is outright sad.

At the end-even the LEOs assess on occasion the culprit, to decide course of action.
I do not see here ,why anyone would need to "challenge"a long standing ,level headed and contributing member (who happened to be even" put to a spot" by posting in his name)with not much "guilt"other then having different opinion on COVID, different then the "flavor of the year" dictates.

    Never did moderating,and never will.
    Must be hard.

But-being impartial and objective should not be.........yet being persistent with the decision for posting in another persons name(regardless if it is "highlighted")is weird at best.
