Has too much time on their hands
Must be technical difficulties, although it didn't seem too difficult to separate the threads and usher everything to the covid forum.
I edited the OP in caps to make it clearer, although it still appears I started a thread and said the mods did.
As for it being tough to moderate a forum, I imagine it's as tough as you make it on yourself. Leave personal bias out of it and it would be a bit easier.

It's an off-topic, members only section seen by us few. There's no need to moderate it at all. Don't like what you read, don't read it.

I've been a mod here before and enjoyed it. Would love to step in and help out FFF, but couldn't take the abuse you take. Thank you for your work.

Well as the title states its been started by a MOD so everyone should be able to comprehend.
Tried to indulge you, tried to be couteous however doesn't seem to work so guess you force me take the hard line.
As per rule 17
17. Respect of the moderators and administrator's decisions and policies is a must.
It has been decided that the thread stand as is and any further discussion will be taken as a breech of this rule and acted on accordingly.

I do speak for myself and I also have respect for others and the tough job they do. I appreciate it and will save my tough guy fighting for where it will actually have an impact. FYI this forum isn’t it

Really? Here I was thinking I could sort things out entirely right here on the OOD off topic section.
Thanks for the wise words friend-o.

Agreed that moderating is a volunteer effort and should be appreciated and respected.
Still can’t imagine why a moderator would start a thread posing as someone else. Makes no sense to do it, and maintain it after repeated requests….

In my opinion that's the way it should be and should they desire the OP should be able to request to a mod that any posts not related to the topic at hand or trolls hijacking a thread be removed. That's the way it was in the very first outdoor forum I joined way back and I foolishly assumed that that was how forums worked. OFC still has an Non- Outdoors open discussion forum that works well but let me tell you many of the off topic threads here would be locked up immediately, trolls are not tolerated at all, they don't allow any political threads and even a long time hockey thread was locked up after some members got out of hand and a Leaf fan threatened to punch other members out lol. They do have a great cooking thread with 4.1K posts on it that's going on 6 years old now. We could use one here, I've thought about starting one here actually, it would real hard to troll that one.
Cheers

Sorry you are having trouble comprehending who started the thread,
The title of the thread states started by the Mod. Bit of a glich in the system that Id GW but should be clear enough who started it as I'm the only mod.

Anyone who has sat at a table with a bunch of guys over a coffee or Barley Brew knows the conversation never stays on topic, it morphs, twists and continues to evolve for hours at a time. That is what conversation is. Discussion and opinions shared will always take twists and turns...as it should. Rules to prevent the natural flow of conversation will always be seen as censorship.
It should be no different on here, imagine an 'administrator' sitting at the end of the table constantly telling people to stay on topic. It will stifle the conversation and participation will drop if posts are constantly removed without just reasons being provided.
Trolls....as many have preached but few follow....just ignore them and deprive them of the attention they seek.
