    We'll it's here..batten down the hatches

Even as the Delta variant continues to be the dominant strain of COVID-19 globally, scientists are warning that a new variant dubbed ‘Mu’ — already detected in Ontario — contains a set of mutations indicating it could be resistant to neutralizing antibodies arising from vaccination and infection.
But the bad news is that since Mu was first detected in Colombia in January, the variant has spread to some 42 countries, including 49 U.S. states. In Miami, Fla., alone, Mu is responsible for about 10 per cent of all COVID patients, behind Delta.

In Ontario, the variant was first detected on June 23 and has since been found 168 times in the province, mostly in the GTA.

Yup, open the borders and let it in. Should have remained closed to all except delivery of goods. Need a vacation, do it here.

Let's look back and see how much sh** is out there. The 4th wave (the one the Libs called an election during) was actually not much higher than the low point between the 2nd and 3rd wave.

Mu seems to have come and gone pretty much.

Mu (21H ) seems to be the last identified variant (of note)

Nothing new I can find on comorbidity rates... https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/.../00087-eng.htm

    Age distribution

Deaths by age... over 24,000 of the 29,000 deaths are over 70 and 700 deaths for all age groups under 50.

Seems Mu isn't doing much... yet, there are 2 versions of the Delta in Canada though
