got home today from work about a half hour ago. having a smoke in my garage and i see our community mailbox with some of the flaps open. wtf?

walk up to it and it looks like half the mailboxes we sticking open. further looking at them seems like the notches to lock the boxes have been ripped or sawed off.

waiting until 7am now to message a customer service agent with Canada post to report it.

Early in the pandemic we had someone steal n95 masks out of our mailbox that my wife had ordered on-line... mail theft is a bigger problem than people are aware of.

That worries me. I'm always buying online and mailbox is about 6" big so rarely stuff goes in it, Comes right to me door.

I trust Canada Post as much as I would trust Trudeau. I have had them throw parcels in the street and we receive about 75% of letters. It was getting so bad I had to tell everyone to stop mailing checks, shopping cards etc for my kid's birthday as they would never show up.
