J&J vaccine update

Don't hear much about this, the Johnson & Johnson, vaccine anymore. I was one of the two traditional 'Viral vector vaccines' developed for Covid. It was also a single-dose vaccine.

This vaccine has been, like all the others, out in the real world for 8 months. Testing confirms it still has it rated 85% efficacy and is effective against the Delta variant.

(Israeli studies over the same time frame have shown the Phizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines have decreased efficacy to 37%)

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) (the Company) today announced data that demonstrated its single-shot COVID-19 vaccine generated strong, persistent activity against the rapidly spreading Delta variant and other highly prevalent SARS-CoV-2 viral variants. In addition, the data showed that the durability of the immune response lasted through at least eight months, the length of time evaluated to date. The two preprint study summaries have been submitted today to bioRxiv.

“Today’s newly announced studies reinforce the ability of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to help protect the health of people globally,” said Paul Stoffels, M.D., Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chief Scientific Officer at Johnson & Johnson. “We believe that our vaccine offers durable protection against COVID-19 and elicits neutralizing activity against the Delta variant. This adds to the robust body of clinical data supporting our single-shot vaccine’s ability to protect against multiple variants of concern.”

“Current data for the eight months studied so far show that the single-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine generates a strong neutralizing antibody response that does not wane; rather, we observe an improvement over time. In addition, we observe a persistent and particularly robust, durable cellular immune response,” said Mathai Mammen, M.D., Ph.D., Global Head, Janssen Research & Development, Johnson & Johnson. “With each new dataset, we build on our solid foundation of evidence that our single-shot COVID-19 vaccine plays a critical role in ending the pandemic, which continues to evolve and pose new challenges to global health.”

I hear they threw out 10,000 doses of Moderna vaccines the other day...past their 'Best before Dates' and no takers. Not sure what is going to happen to the millions of Pfizer doses the Village Idiot bought and are sitting in the freezer already...

There are less than 8 million unvaccinated ( 20% of 38 million =7.6 million). They had over 9 million Pfizer doses delivered in Aug and the Village Idiot just bought another 10 Million ??

I guess he'll wait till after the election to order us back to the re-education centers...sorry Kool Aid distribution centers...to get the booster shot #3 of the inferior old mRNA vaccine.

Then we will go back again In Jan for Pfizer's 'mRNA vaccine 2.0'..the one that will actually prevent the Delta variant. It'll probably be a two-shot vaccine 3 months apart.

So plan to be back from your 'Fully Vaxxed Vacation' early, you'll need at least 3 more shots and get your passport updated before spring break !!
