New Stat Holiday in Canada?

So i run into this new Stat Holliday in Canada.Sep 30.

I followed up -what ,how,when etc.

I was surprised to find out-that the Holliday does NOT apply to Canada as a whole.

It does apply to the Federal Employees ?Am i right -or missing something?

If the Truth and Reconciliation day was set to share and REFLECT on the lessons learned from the past-WHY we(the rest of the country) are deprived from that opportunity?
Why only Federal employees have a need-or have a right for this?

How the rest of Canada will look at the day-and onto the ppl having the BENEFIT of this extra Stat?

How dividing Canadians in this sensitive matter helps "the cause"?

How -making yet again privileged certain employees help the Country,to stay "united"in a certain matter ,as a whole?

Or this is just another Liberal publicity stunt and useless virtue signalling?

Am i missing something?

What a joke ... so they say, let's make a holiday for this reflection ... but it will only apply to us, everyone else ... carry on.

And......if we look deep down,this is what they say to the rest of "not so privileged Candians"-When we are off PAID,You will / have to /no choice.......will work on that day!!!!


You will be WORKING ,and the money YOU make ,for which WE can decide how much of that to take away from YOU (via taxes)-well, WE will use THAT money to PAY our MERRY fully PAID day off !!!

To be honest I heard about it, but didn't know anything about it. To be a stat holiday my understanding always was it shuts down Canada from one end to the other.

Looks like the same format as 'Remembrance Day'....you get paid extra if your business is still open, but Federal depts, Banks, etc will be closed.

To the best of my knowledge they already get more then 10. I know those who were real employees at Natural Resources Canada got 15 days paid sick leave, well at least the ones I worked with and the manager who hired me got 20.

So does this mean they get 10 more?

I always thought they had 2 days a month....but it says they have 3, he's added 7 more to what they already have..

I had some Civilian ladies working in my office and they primarily used those 'sick' days when their kids were sick and couldn't go to day care.
