People who had the original AZ shot have become anxious, thru the slanted media reporting, that the mRNA vaccines are 'probably' better than getting your 2nd AZ shot. So there is pressure to get everyone to take the mRNA test drug. I'm not biting, I'm sticking with the traditional adenoviral vector vaccine.

I'm thinking six of one, half dozen of the other. Our pharmacist pretty much said all this adverse publicity has more to do with corporate gamesmanship than anything else because they know the products will be worth millions of dollars when this thing subsides. It'll be with us forever. Those with the best PR departments win big.

My mother in law got the second AstraZeneca shot . She is on blood thinners already so the risk of clotting of the first shot was little or none at all.

We will take whatever we can get the fastest. Mainly because her FiL could go any day. And the only way limited visitors can get in to see him is to be fully dosed.

Would prefer AZ myself, but pick yourself poison.

Finally got to visit my mom last Friday in a retirement home in Eastern Ontario.
Main doors lock. Person came to the door, took our temperature with a scan on our arm???
Asked our name but nothing else. Vaccination not required.
Had to wear a mask in the hallway which was removed once inside the apartment with Mom.
No one else we encountered was wearing one.

    Stupid rules.

With him I kind of get it Impact. He was diagnosed with MS in his 40s. He’s now almost 80.

The slide downhill has been very steep the last 2,years. I guess a couple weeks ago now, he woke paralyzed. Couldn’t move at all. He was moved to a hospital, not a nursing home or retirement home. Family told he won’t be coming out/back home.

My fiancé hasn’t seen him since last April. And while he will be allowed a limited number of visitors. I guess maybe due to the risk, to other patients in the wing.

So we will likely have to get M or P. Have an appt July 8.

My preference from the beginning has been AZ. Traditional vector. When news first broke of the odd clot, my fiancé was a little concerned ( hereditary blood issues). So we waited a little longer for more information (data). Got our first shot in late May, and then late Aug for second. We weren’t concerned about “risk”. Either.

There might be some small upside to M or P mixed with AZ. It makes sense, and it rarely hurts to diversify ….

    but……………

People can fall, wherever they want. And pick their own poisons. Last I checked we were a free society. We’re even free to commit suicide if we want.

No matter which side or where someone falls. Bottom line.

    not being free to choose…
especially, given, the cold hard truth is. People under 45 are not a risk to break the system. “Flatten the curve”

who cares if Delta is spreading like wildfire through the younger crowds…Are they ending up in ICUs?
