Canada April annual inflation rate rises to 3.4%
Here we go.....
"The rate of inflation rose in April, with Statistics Canada saying the Consumer Price Index jumped to 3.4 per cent on a year-over-year basis. This comes after a gain of 2.2 per cent in March."
The price of gasoline rose 62.5% on a year-over-year basis in April, the largest year-over-year increase on record.

CPI has it's flaws, but it's the best we have.
There are a handful of different forces that drive inflation. We've been ticking almost all the boxes since Feb/March.

You forget how much gas crashed with the lock down, yes gas has gone way up but gas prices in Kemptville Ontario are the same as they were 7 years ago when we moved out here, actually a bit cheaper now.
