Can you explain an opportunity ? Or the what opportunities this virus brings? That's probably the biggest thing that boils my blood as I don't see how 24 thousand so call claimed Canadian Live's lost brings opportunity.

That video is disgusting and a disgrace to our country lol.

Our loved one's are dying no you can't see them but we have a window of opportunity lol. An opportunity to wreck the economy to reshape it ? During a pandemic when thousands are dying yes it's our opportunity

Ok so let’s let logic take over again.

If the above is the case, why aren’t we hearing a large number of nurses and doctors warning of it? It seems to me that the doctors and nurses are URGING everyone to social distance and get the vaccine. Then once the numbers are down we can resume regular patient care. These are extreme circumstances, everyone needs to recognize that. And having silly rallies only goes to show that some cannot come to terms with logic. Viruses can become airborne and spread through a crowd quickly. This in turn will continue the need for beds in the ICU for the patients with covid-19.

If people would only listen, we could be done by now. Let’s all do our part.

In my opinion, we can look to history and science for some answers. Past plagues used isolation, masks and risk reduction to limit exposure to let the virus die out. You are right - Canada's response sucked. WIde open borders too long, weak lockdowns and poor vaccine rollout. If we had locked down hotspots for a few more weeks in wave 2, especially in the GTA and restricted movement, we would all be gearing up for the May 24 weekend.
Florida and Texas let things burn. Fast way to get to herd immunity but lots of dead grandma's and grampa's. Florida also had an absolutely massive vaccine rollout much faster than Ontario.
The war we fight is against biology. Our politicians have turned it into a game of votes.

I thought much the way you guys did up until last fall. Once my line of thinking about covid started to change, it hasn't turned back. There were a couple of red flags for me that started the ball rolling. Mask mandates and vaccine development in record time being the big ones. My feelings on masks are well documented in the mask thread, and my feeling on these particular vaccines are in other threads I suppose. I'm not an anti-vaxxer, although I don't bother with the flu shot.

There is plenty of back and forth on this, everyone believes they're right, but take some time and go back and look at pre-covid science. Look at vaccine attempts for other coronaviruses, behaviour and mutation rates of RNA viruses, seasonal trends, modes of transmission, conditions that allow transmission, death rates of previous years, etc. Look up whatever you can find and see if you still think what you're being told makes sense. Take a different view of the narrative. Stop thinking about these particular vaccines as if they're a modern miracle and more of a marketable product and things will start to be more clear.

Everyone is quick to dismiss all of it as misinformation and conspiracy theories, but the information is all there to draw your own conclusions. The conclusions most people are coming up with are simply repeating what they read or hear in the MSM. Keep in mind that any MSM covid-related article contains one or two scientific facts, then a load of whatever spin that news outlet wants to push. Forget the rest of it. Start sorting the few facts from the spin and a different narrative is clear.

There was recently an article (can't remember the source) about evidence of airborne transmission. If airborne transmission is the primary mode of transmission, all the measures we've taken over the past 1.5 years have been incorrect. However, this article then went on to discuss the importance of vaccination in light of this discovery. The spin. The scientific fact was airborne transmission, the vaccine push was the opinion of the news outlet.

The people making money don't want this pandemic to end. They're already hinting at the UK being unable to lift further restrictions because of fears of the "Indian Variant".

People need to let go of the idea that a war with a virus like this one can be successful, because it can't. That's the big lie you're being sold. It's already being said, people are just refusing to accept it. We have to learn to live in a world with covid, the sooner the better for everyone.

Here's a two- part question to ponder. Why didn't we hear about variants until vaccinations started and who stands to gain if new vaccines need to be made?
