Seems more and more like 1984 or Solzhenitsyn's books are the role models for the direction they want to take Canada. Authoritarian where corruption is OK and even approved at the highest levels and freedoms and free speech not allowed.

Yeah, Not sure if he would've turned himself in if asked but I'm sure they have his address. Not sure what's up with those Calgary cops, back in January a female officer was going to taze a teenage ice skater to save him from covid. Again in January the O.P.P. pulled over Pastor Henry Hildebrant along the 401 in a similar manner after performing mass in Aylmer, not sure if he was fined or arrested.

I think they did it this way as a way to get even? The previous scenes of the police walking away from the church with their butts handed to them by the pastor, must have rankled more than a few of the high up mucky mucks? The man was not dangerous, vocal yes, but no danger of physical harm to the LEO's. The could have arrested him anywhere, but they chose to grandstand it in the middle of a busy roadway, which was much more dangerous to all involved. Pathetic!

Well, that's even worse then ... he got arrested because he was irritating ... not because he actually broke the law.
That would imply all the cops want to do is shut you the heck up. Talk about taking away freedom!

And I think in his earlier videos, that was his point too. Instead of coming and talking to him on a Monday afternoon ... they choose to do it right in the middle of worship ... sure, you might say they are trying to deal with it, when it happens. But, given how this was escalating ... why would they not try and diffuse the situation by coming back at a time where he is more willing to talk?

Because they wanted to show off their power and intimidate others that might stand up to them. They wanted to make it a show of force, to intimidate, to embarrass and insult.... they would fit perfectly in a dictatorships police state.

The Police acting in this way will only cause a further divide between the citizens and law enforcement. I can see many folks who are otherwise peaceful and respectful getting fed up with this nonsense. One can only imagine the backslapping and high fives going on back at the station after this arrest?
