Exactly. There's a little clause in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms that people tend to gloss over and that's "....except where prescribed by law." Canadians don't have 1/8 the rights they think they do.

As a follow up you might find this of interest: https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/...ction-176.html Having listen to the pastor comments, I wasn't sure in which religion he hangs his hat, he kept making reference to Passover which is Jewish rather than Good Friday Service, which is the Christian celebration. Granted they both focus upon the event in question. However depending on the calendar year and the phases of the moon they can sometime be a few weeks apart.

It boils down then, to who is in the lawful position, so what body of law would supersede the other should determine that, shouldn't it? Maybe you could provide some explanation?
