I met Russ Bannock once - he lives in Oakville. My neighbor (Bill) was originally from New Zealand flew with him in the war. After the war Russ went to work for de Havilland Canada and was the first test pilot for the DHC-2 Beaver.

Both of these guys are true gentleman.

He probably had some stories! Some he would tell, others he wouldn't, I saw a history show on him years ago, quite the life!

But the reason for today's post

Anniversary of the Doolittle Raid.

Although through the passage of time the controversy surrounding that raid has diminished but the wisdom of carrying it out in the first place still persists. Of course its always easier to critcize something in hindsight.
