I just checked with the better half (CPA)
She is using Studio Tax. It clearly shows a credit of $450 (non rural) on one of many returns she did.
Check line #45110 on your return for the correct amount. It should display what was calculated on schedule 14.

I did that this morning and pulled up the long forms option and yes the $495 shows up....
I'm beginning to think Gun Nut may be right,..something in the s/w, using the Easy Step option may not be revealing what is going on behind the scenes.
I'm going to run a fictitious return later this weekend (with the same data) and see if I can discover anything.
I know I'm not imagining it....I showed the wife as it happened and she saw that once I submitting the schedule for the 'Climate Action Initiative..it only made a difference of $45 on our return.

A good accountant saves you more than they cost you.

In some financial matters I agree....but my Buddy was paying $325 for him and his wife to get their taxes done. He finally bought the $34 'Turbo Tax' and now does it himself. Big savings if you don't have a complicated file.

I did up a friends taxes and beat his accountant, his accountant forgot a few things.
Been doing taxes for 35 years now. The old man taught me how to do them. I remember doing them by hand and all the calculations with a calulator.

SCAM to pay pensions ... this is not helping the environment at ALL. Carbon emissions have gone up in Canada since.
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM ... I can't believe some fools think this carbon tax is doing good for the environment ... what fools ... so blind.

......lets them feed like they are doing something good (makes them feel righteous). Like making the streets safer by banning legal guns.
