Sounds like a little racism in the group - I always said that they should make the royal family work for a living and not collect welfare all their lives - worrying about the baby's skin color -
I struggle to care in the slightest about this issue.
When you marry into the Royal Family you are doing just that......marrying into the family. At the end of the day this is completely a 1st world issue.
Have never understood the hoopla surrounding the 'RF". Dinosaurs from a by-gone time. I can appreciate that life is different and under the scope, but here's a fiddle. Nor do I buy "didn't know what I was getting into"...Scuze me? No clue what Dianna's life was like?
Well, I can sympathize with her ... maybe she knew it would be really difficult, but when she realized just how nuts it was ... I mean getting to the point of suicide ... that is an issue. No one walks into something knowing a year later they'd want to end their lives because of it.
Anyhow, I don't think yesterday did the Royal Family any good, especially Prince Charles (who I assume was the one worried about how dark the baby would be).
' Sounds like a little racism in the group'........ On some threads here , certain people didn’t want their offspring to marry out of their colour. Mixed race babies, not knowing where they belong etc. Guess that they would have made good Royals. Look at the furor against the Royals for saying it, and what they are being called , for saying so........Should there not be the same reaction, if a 'commoner' says it? If the shoe fits.....

Let's just remember where the "modern" slave trade started.......France,Belgium and Britain after they colonized central Africa.......as for Britain, long before the American revolution,so,the Americans certainly don't have a lock on racism.
