Ha ha, I sometimes enjoy these "what if" things.
Personally, I think it will come. How and when, no idea other than I'll likely be wormfood.
Nuclear option?
While possible, I wouldn't bet on it. If it's going to happen, it's going to be for our water. Not sure how poisoning the very thing you want is a good idea

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

And what a place to start it at the military games. A bunch of healthy people who won't all die to spread it all around world without any notice.
It would be the perfect place..

Well, I suppose it is a bit odd JT would invite them here, in order to be trained and get a feel for winter warfare.
Especially when, they are physically closer to Russia, as well is sorta friendly.Climate, geography. Russia/Canada??
So why here?
Not that a few dozen getting a feel will help.

Our soldiers would never turn their weapons on our citizens.
A UN mission would have no problem in doing just that.
China has many assets in Canada. Trudeau gave them a grand tour of the country last year.
"China’s unusual choice to invest both capital and personnel, however, has created suspicion that Chinese peacekeeping efforts are tied to its economic interests: in other words, China sends peacekeepers primarily to protect its economic assets abroad. And, since representatives from UN member countries negotiate the MOUs to determine “details of the personnel, major equipment and self-sustainment services that the contributing country will provide,” the opportunity exists for China to determine where, when, and how its contributions will be deployed."

Turns out to be a handsome sum too..
For these vital services, Canadians pay $22 million every year, including the governor-general’s nearly $300,000 salary (which was finally subject to income tax in 2012 but simultaneously hiked to ensure minimal discomfort). As last year’s report of the secretary to the governor general noted, “six federal government departments and agencies are also mandated to support the activities of the Governor General,” adding another $30 million to the tab.
