Was there something deeply offensive in a thread about the weather ??

But I have read the a piece of news (Maybe this is why my starlink hasn't showed up). I think their storm is comparable to the ice storm of 1998, Mass power outages, no heat with cold they are not use to.
Not sure what to do. A very good reason why everyone should be prepared to handle a month at bare minimum to go it alone. Ideally you should have 6 months food and supplies and be prepared to do what is necessary without government.

Anyways maybe my comments will hijack the thread.

The thread was moved to never land after falling victim to the same old, same old.

The situation in Texas, is a cold dose of reality with respect to the charge to green. Both in terms of fuel shortages and renewables.

Wouldn’t you think someone could just remove an offensive post and let the rest of the community keep discussing ?

The evidence points out, that it depends on who is taking it off track. Seems to be, that when some change the course of a thread it is acceptable. Look at the recent posts that I started, within a couple of replies it is, taken way off point. If I say 'look at what X did', the reply will start with, 'what about Y' , followed by multiple posts of , ' X is so much better than Y , because'...... They go off topic, to stuff that has nothing to do with the point, of what X did.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?
