    Default The Sputnik V vaccine

I wonder if the Village Idiot will put aside the politics and buy some of the vaccine for Canada....becasue "we will always do what is in the best interest of Canadians".

At first dismissed and ridiculed by Western countries, Russia's Sputnik V vaccine has not only been rehabilitated; it's emerging as a powerful tool of influence abroad for President Vladimir Putin.

The vaccine, named after the first satellite sent into space almost 70 years ago, was meant to evoke historic images of Russian glory. Instead, initial claims of Sputnik V's effectiveness were met with deep skepticism after Russia authorized its widespread use before completing all phases of its clinical trials.

It confirmed the vaccine is "safe and effective." While the journal noted Sputnik V's development faced criticism for "an absence of transparency" and "corner cutting," it said the vaccine maker, Moscow's Gamaleya National Centre of Epidemiology and Microbiology, had, in fact, demonstrated solid scientific principles.

At about $10 US each for the two-shot dose, the vaccine is roughly half the price of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, and it can be stored at –2 C whereas the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines require much-colder temperatures.

Yes I have read some information about that. Russia skipped a bunch of steps in testing and hoped for the best. It appears they lucked out and it works quite well and appears to be safe. I still like the Pfizer Mrna vaccine.

I'd take this vaccine. It's being administered in some former Soviet bloc countries and is readily available. I've done work in eastern Europe, know people there and the ongoing uncertainty of the situation in Canada thanks to Trudeau makes a "vaccination vacation" in Belgrade very appealing.

That kind of puts things into perspective. I wonder if at anytime in the last 100 years, Canadians would see treatment in or from Russia, as a better option to our own.

I don't know if it's a better option but at present it's the ONLY option thanks to Trudeau's incompetence and false promises.

Besides Belgrade is a lovely city and if I can get the vaccine there it might be a deductible business expense.

Jordan Peterson travelled to Russia to get medical the help he couldn't get in Canada. He's back now and looks like he's recovered:

Mikhaila Peterson said the treatment her father received in Russia successfully got rid of the benzodiazepines in his system, but the drugs had caused “significant” neurological damage, which is why they sought further treatment in Belgrade, Serbia.

Well, it seems they do have a bit of knowledge when it comes to poisons and such. No reason they wouldn't have a handle on vaccines too.
