Mike they might have to pay back.
That program was for companies loosing more than 30 % in losses. It could be 30% annual.
If they were busy most of the summer no need for the program. .

Here's another good story today:
OTTAWA – In the spring, Sienna Senior living needed military support in two of its overwhelmed long-term care homes where COVID-19 was surging, but even though soldiers were marching in, the company still paid out $45 million to its shareholders.
In addition to the military’s support, Sienna’s fiscal statements reveal the company received $21 million from the Ontario government for staffing and PPE and $4 million for capital spending to improve infection control.
And of course this gem for the Village idiot:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was asked about the company’s decision to pay out dividends, but didn’t weigh in on the issue.
“I know over the coming months there will be many reflections by Canadians and others on that.”

update:
Everyone saw this coming Haha..
Some self-employed Canadians are being let off the hook on repayment of thousands of dollars received through the Canada emergency response benefit (CERB).
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement in a news conference outside his residence at Rideau Cottage today.
"For people who accessed CERB based on their gross income instead of net income — as long as you met the other eligibility criteria, you will not have to return your CERB payments," he said.

Saw a blurb on how people who understood the difference between net and gross and didn't apply for the CERB are now calling foul...
And they have a point. Why should someone who falsified their claim (intentionally or not ) get $14K -$18K.
Hard pill to swallow, lost $14K because you're smarter or called in and asked.

Has too much time on their hands
Most all of the people scamming from Cerb are freeloading lazy liberal voters that will be glad to vote for trudeau.
According to them we who work are the idiots, because they get to sit at home get paid by trudeau to do nothing.
Free rides for the freeloaders is a sure vote.
Sadly those are who make up most of liberals votes.
Lots more gangsters have new firepower for the streets thanks to Cerb..

Update..a better idea of where some of Taxpayers money went:
A closer look at where $82 billion in CERB payments went at the beginning of the pandemic.
Over its lifespan between late March and October of last year, the CERB paid out nearly $82 billion to 8.9 million people whose incomes crashed because they saw their hours slashed or lost their jobs entirely.
Some three million people lost their jobs in March and April as non-essential businesses were ordered closed, and 2.5 million more worked less than half their usual hours.
The data from Employment and Social Development Canada show that 6.5 million people received the $500-a-week CERB during the first four weeks it was available, or more than one in five Canadians over age 15.
What emerges from that initial wave is a largely rural-urban split, with higher proportions of populations relying on the CERB in cities compared to rural parts of the country.
Neighbourhoods in Brampton, Ont., on Toronto's northwest edge, had the largest volume of CERB recipients with postal-code areas averaging over 15,160 recipients per four-week pay period.
In all, there were 4.4 million recipients in the CERB's second month, the biggest month-to-month change, 3.7 million in the third, and a steady decline to almost 2.3 million recipients by the time the CERB was replaced by a trio of new recovery benefits and a revamped and restarted employment-insurance system.
Over the lifetime of the CERB, the Ontario town of East Gwillimbury had the highest average number of residents accessing the program, at 24 per cent. The town with the lowest percentage was Winkler, Man., at 3.83 per cent.
[/quote]
Should have added: $86 Billion / 9 million CERB recipients = about (average) $9K per person.

Great shows where the workers are. These are working people who lost their income. Many people who live there are from the demographic of those whose children, as soon as they are able, contribute to the families coffers. No after school sports, off to work you go.
