Having lived in China, Beijing to be specific, that would be a hard no. Not even close. The comparison is farcical.

With world events now unfolding we will need to clean up the corruption at the top.
The Americans will not tolerate communism on their northern border.
Lucky for us that we have a deep friendship with our neighbours at the south.
PM Numb Nut was put on notice!

Depends....What if they have a contract, signed by the government, that says that they own the property?

I know exactly what he is saying and I understand where you both are coming from, its not the fault of the police and not the fault of the Provincial Government. Dudley George got shot by the police who were acting under the orders of a Provincial PREMIER WHO WANTED TO TAKE A TOUGHTER STAND. But it did not work out, now I think everybody is gun shy.
But why are we letting this unresolved issue fester for so many years.
If these folks have a legitimate land claim lets get it sorted out in Court, havens knows we have enough lawyers.
Personally I blame the Crown and Monarchy who made the deals in the first place but have walked away since then.

3 years based out of Beijing. Followed by police. Chased by plain clothed police. “asked out for tea” a euphemism for being called in to meet with their internal affairs people. Followed while working, not allowed to travel to certain parts of the county, refused hotel reservations on arrival in another city once they say I was a white foreigner. By the way you have to register with the police if you move to a different apartment. Also when my wife came to visit had to register her with the police. They also held up my residence permit until 24 hours before I would have to leave the country as my old one was expiring. That’s just of the top of my head. So no based on my experience, trying to draw that comparison is not realistic.

Thanks for sharing. The point of my post is that with our current leadership in place that is where we are heading.

I would imagine that Canadians will do what they always do and unelect the current government at some point, and replace it with another government which will fail some Canadians and make other think that it’s the saviour of our nation. It too will get tossed out. Rinse and repeat.
