The two are too into it, to allow for you to.
My fiance is an English lit with honors. She refers to herself as a literature snob. Primarily what and who she reads. The editor in her might pick a bone with the words "I ignore the grammar on here" strike the word on with red ink, and replace it with "in".
There's a time and place for everything.
Emailing colleague's, superiors, etc...
Social media where people are in a rush, phones, autospellers, acronym's for everything.
Two different worlds. Akin to analogue clocks and learning how to tell time, and digital....Or cursive vs 'smart" phones.
