    Jeff.
One of the reasons they are being shredded is because it’s a blanket slap down.

And while exceptions may be made, and can be made for those that are outside the country for good reasons...
As with most things, our officials prefer easy solutions to thinking, and measures that address “the problem”

The only exceptions that will be made for quick entrance to Canada will be brought to you by the letter "M".
    Is that morality grounds ......no.
    Is it Medical grounds....no.
How about MONEY gets you in for the win?
Big business will still get carte blanche for entrance, guaranteed.
Even Meng got a few weeks visit from family members travelling from China while in jail here in Canada.
    Different rules for different fools.

From my perspective/situation though this rule sucks. I live/work in the U.S. as a member of the Canadian military. Wife and kids are back home. Going on a year now and I’ve seen my family for two weeks. Was hoping to get back on the spring break but that is no longer in the cards (paying rent here + a mortgage back home + flights + $2000 to sit in a quarantine camp isn’t feasible).

I get it though. It’s a pandemic and we all make sacrifices...maybe I’ll see the kids in 2022.
If you are in another country due to work reasons, the company (or government in your case) should bear the cost of your quarantine obligations upon return ... no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Is there a possibility you might qualify for an essential designation?

I’m not essential nor will the CAF cover the cost of quarantining if I travel for leave. Would be a different story if I went back on official business.

So when you are stationed, you do not get a R&R periodically as part of the package? Seems like it is considered more like a permanent relocation?

Surprised? Your deluxe stay at the quarantine hotel courtesy of:

Are Radisson hotels owned by China?

As per Radisson Hotel Group's website, Radisson Hospitality is majority owned by Jin Jiang International Holdings Co, which is ultimately owned by an entity of the government of the People's Republic of China.
