Mask exempt law
If you see someone in a store without a mask please give them the benefit of the doubt.
That is our Canadian way!
"We have heard that numerous businesses are now calling the police when a mask exempt person enters their business. An individual who declares that they are exempt does not need to provide proof of an exemption. Additionally, the recently declared “State of Emergency” in Ontario does NOT remove mask exemptions from the regulation.
Businesses refusing to honour mask exemptions may be charged under the “Reopening Ontario Act” with failing to comply with Section 7.0.2. They may also be subject to Human Rights Code complaints, should the individual choose to file one.
It is important for both businesses and police to THROUGHLY read through the legislation BEFORE acting. Under section 7.0.2 (1) it clearly states that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms MUST be upheld, this includes Section 15 “Equality Rights” which states every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability."

Perhaps people just aren't that interested.

Well it is law with exemptions unfortunately everything is blown out of proportion and the exemption has been ignored.
Even doctor Williams said today Talkin about the new more contagious said today.
That if you are talking to someone for 10 to 15 minutes in close contact with no mask on you may be at risk for covid 19 . The new variant is 50 percent more contagious so roughly 5 to 7 minutes of of contact. He didn't give a specific time on the more contagious strain I am just guessing that. Lol.
Walking by someone without a mask is not the end of the world. Nor will it be the end of yours. Follow protocols and think common sense will get you by with little risk.

It's got nothing to do with interest. Those who know already know, it was put there for the slack jawed gabbers who wish to argue everything. And now they are silent! [emoji106]

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

What is there to argue. Would that not be ‘stirring the pot ‘ ? Against the rules if done on purpose.

Has too much time on their hands
All current by-laws and EMA orders have included exemptions for those affected by this rules, who cannot wear a mask (ME), the protections have been in place since July 6th in Ottawa area.
It is unfortunate the amount of crap, berating, outright harassment and belittling I receive - I have thick skin and it has become a sticking point to educate people, including stores like I had said earlier about no bashing the kids at front doors but instead get them to get the Manager and call them out to the difficult situation they put those kids in.
It is ongoing - also a store can not refuse you service based on a mask - however, they can make you wait outside, bring your order and pay outside. I have not experienced that yet.
