Freedom of Speech takes a hit

I believe banning someone from social media does not infringe upon someone's right to free speech. They can still voice their opinion, just not on certain social media sites. On the other hand, for a private company to ban someone based upon their race, colour, creed, sexual orientation, etc., is a direct human rights violation. There is no gray area in that case.

So if someone from the LGBQT community were to post their support for a gay person on a social media platform, and then they are banned from that platform due to the policies of the private company ... it's all good?

Also, in the paper today, a column by Lorne Gunter about banning users on social media. From the column:

...Twitter and the others don’t have to justify the exclusions of people or ideas. As private entities, they are free to associate with whomever they choose. Don’t like Facebook’s arbitrary decisions? Go somewhere else. Or maybe start your own social media service. Censorship is the act of shutting you up completely. Of making it illegal even to say what you think. That is not the same as an individual or company refusing to help you spread your message.

LOL I happened to get a Special Issue of Epoch Times through my letter box yesterday, read it cover to cover. I then researched the who, what ,when, where and why of the publication on the net. I guess the kindest comment would be no thanks.

It was pretty interesting some of it but when I got into a two page diatribe from Conrad Black I suddenly got turned off, I guess I don't like being lectured to by a character who has done time inside.

Conrad Black used to be on 640AM every Friday at 4:30pm on the drive home. I used to really enjoy listening to him; regardless of whatever else he has done wrong, many of his views on current events are in line with my own.

He was removed from CORUS Entertainment because he expressed his opinion that “systemic racism” did not exist in Canada. More stifling of independent thought by the mainstream media. So unfortunate.

Lol Mikepal. That's classic Conrad. I enjoy his tone and demeanor.
He's got a great take on Trump and all the extraordinary abuses he's endured while still accomplishing great things.
I'd suspect once they're done destroying Trump, they'll start targeting the supporters, he'll be more blackballed then he already is.

Considering the video used as possible evidence originated with the same James O' Keefe who is known to produce the above I think we can all await the results of a trial. Looks like more far right fake news.
