They' didn't show anything untrue, AND nothing can substantiate treating a woman (or anyone) like that for any reason. Especially for the perceived crime that would amount to a bylaw offence with a fine.
Pure Brutality under the watchful eye of their supervisor.
I would not have worn a protest sign while in the presence of my child. That's my point. Like any other animal, humans will do anything to protect their young, so putting yourself and child in this situation in the first place is irresponsible. If she wasn't wearing the protest sign, this would be a whole different discussion. She knew there was the possibility of a confrontation. You could even say she was looking for one.

Wearing a protest sign.
Would that be anything like.
Erecting a sign on your lawn during any election for "Anyone but"
Joining a picket line with your children
Walking down "main" street wearing a MAGA hat
Wearing a fur coat while with children
Walking through a park without a mask
Putting brand decals say like Realtree or Browning on your vehicle
????
If I were to walk through a park, without a mask on in protest, or say wearing a MAGA hat with my children and any member of the public accosted me. They would be in a world of trouble, more so and especially if I had my children with me.

Well said
Wear a mask outside lol.
Mine stay in the car only wear it when needed in a store . I'm not taking a mask to go ice fishing nor the park or out for a walk. .
More restrictions coming I heard from my oldest they want a 5 km travel restriction not sure how that will work. It's about 20 km into town . Oh and she said only 1 person per vehicle guess what my vehicle I can have the family with me like it or not.
John Tory said he would like to see more restrictions on when we go shopping . [emoji1787]
We shall see what tomorrow brings .

Woah, talk about making crap up ... combative?? LOL, no ... the invasion of Capitol Hill was combative ... she was FAR from it.
She has a right to ask WHY she is being arrested. Sounds to me like she was following the law, and some cops got a bit grumpy ...
and decided to interpret the law in their own way ...
If I were her, I'd be suing the police big time ... and I'd like to see the badge come off that female captain ...
You see ... we are NOT a police state ... and it better not go that direction either.

Doesn't matter what you would have or wouldn't have done ... it means didly SQUAT. All that matters is what is your rights and what is the law ... otherwise you are simply talking about vigilantism ... you get to chose what you like and don't like ... and then we can kiss everything good bye ... because talk about everything melting down to oblivion ... that's what you'll get.
She was within her rights it seems ... and she found a loop hole ... cops do not get to decide they don't like it and arrest her ... it's either she broke the law or did not ... and it sounds like she was out exercising by walking, and at the same time, expressing her opinion.
Here's what a decent cop would have done ... LEAVE her alone.
COPS will not enter the worst part of the cities due to violent gangs ... but oh yes, let's pounce on a woman walking around with a sign around her neck ... SO LAME.

In the video it looks like 8 cops + a supervisor, ripped her child from her arms and she was manhandled into the back of a van like a sack of potatoes.
Nothing she did should have resulted in that brutality.
It’s pretty easy to blame the police, after seeing a very narrow depiction of the whole occurrence. I learned a long time ago that usually there is much more to an event, than is in a short video. I’m not aware of the police authority in AS, nor have I read the Ontario law with respect to Covid. However, I’d be willing to bet that failure to identify yourself to the police when they are investigating a complaint, is an arrestable offence. There are many statutes where failure to identify is arrestable. The HTA, FWCA, are only a couple. The videos I have seen have pretty much shown someone not identifying themselves to police. Just sayin’............

Seems to me that the people that are upset about ID.Showing proof of ,who you say you are, or face arrest. Are the same ones advocating for carding.

Not seeing that at all. What colour is the sky in your world? I have no issues showing police my ID if I was ever asked (and other than a traffic stop I have never been asked) AND I support carding as a usefull and powerful policing tool which will reduce crime.
There is a whole other part of that video that is not being shown - no different then all that BLM and Me Too (Police brutality) videos that show a small part of a video to evoke the public.

I don't give a rats azz what she did, her motives for carrying a sign or the fact she had her kid with her. The cops don't have any weapons drawn so she's obviously not a threat.
The video shows police brutality against a mother and her child. Especially of the officer trying to throw her into the back of the van and slamming the door on her legs.
edit add: she was charged: NSW Police confirmed late on Saturday night that she had been issued with a public infringement notice (PIN) and a subsequent $1000 fine.
Basically a Covid related charge/fine....for not social distancing.
The Judge will have a field day with this..especially since it's all captured on video.
