So questions then.
Why should any public servant be entitled to a tax payer funded pension? Isn't that an income you receive Mike from the state, paid for by others? When the majority don't/can't benefit from.
Anyone with RSPs. Why do you feel, you are entitled to significant tax breaks, ( state provided income) when the majority don't or can't benefit from them?
Cases where "UBI" is good because it's just for the few? Ands in particular, the wealthy few? Say those, who earn enough that they should be fully capable of taking care of themselves......
Can't remember if it was this thread, or another where PP called spades, spades. With respect to people living off wages, paycheck to paycheck, taxation. And those that have tangible assets and "net worth".

x2.
Democracy is by far no perfect-but so far,no "better" Political system is invented.
Here are some ideas about earlier discussions:
Socialism and Social Democracy are cousins, not the same thing.
Social Democracy can/makes sense -to a degree.Until they do not start to "brainwash "generations to no end(see Sweden).
Socialism as such ,is also cousin to Communism.
One in love with it, should see all the benefits of it from history:
SSSR (Soviet Union-from the start till the end)-Maoist China-Pol Pot's Cambodia-Ceausescu's Romania.
Then the "meeker" ones:Poland,Hungary,Jugoslavia,Cuba,Venezuela (to name a recent one).
Just so we know-they become "meeker"after few decades of governing, and several thousand dead opponents ,for the start.
(Venezuale may be exception to the many dead PreStart condition.......... )
If one is interested-read about them.Or ,talk to "survivors".
Socialism= run............

The systems aren’t flawed, people are!
we can tie all the communist, democratic and socialist, etc systems to names of leaders. Then we can demonize what those people did and say the system failed.
maybe the ideas are good but we as humans are flawed. Greed and corruption are as old as time itself. Don’t blame the equation, sometimes the numbers are wrong.
food for thought

To illustrate that. Much as we might demonize Pot or Stalin.
Have we not noticed that the US has been at war with someone for the last 200 years.........No idea how many dead as a result.
One persons terrorist is another persons freedom fighter and only the victor gets the final say.

.....and THIS is the heart of the matter. We may have cell phones, internet and can fly to the moon but we are the same as we were back in the days of ancient kingdoms like Egypt and Rome. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Democracy is far from perfect, and yes, we are all slaves to the system we are born into, but each of us can make a difference in our own small way by being kind, fair and decent to one another and to stand up against those that oppress the weak, poor and innocent. Democracy allows us to do that. We have all watched it happen - a racist tyrant TV host that used to be the ruler of a great nation will soon find himself running from lawsuits and the enemies he made and laws he broke. Life is no different than the days of ancient Rome or Egypt - it all depends on the king in power and the King that rules your heart.

The problem down south is that 46% of the people think he did a good job. And 50% of that group think he was sent by god.

Seeing that the topic is about socialism, you must be speaking of delusional voters in Vermont that elected Bernie Sanders junior United States Senator.
