Thread: How much will your life actually change during the latest lockdown?

Metro keeps offering "buy three of these and get free delivery" on items I like getting (the Bailey's coffee milk right not) and that means I just have to aim the delivery for before the sales ends date.... so no need for grocery shopping.

Boxing day is coming and I have been looking online for items that if they come on big sales I can order them (all in one folder on the brower, just open all tabs, look, done)

Work, usual, this year even more than I was expecting and more deadlines so maybe a bit slower this next month... but maybe not.

A few books sitting waiting for some time to read and too much around the waistline so it is needing attention too... also some misc projects I can work in in the house this winter so motivation and work depending those. Not really much change from lock down to not for me personally.

Not a lot of change for us, all the stores within a 5 minutes walk and Costco within a 7 minutes drive.

Out every other day for a 6-7k run with the dog and walk on other days. Telly has been good with Rogers free channels at this time of year and Nexflix ,book reading always good.

Miss the cabin could be out doing some wood chopping or trails, might get a x box next year and try the late season hunt.

Bonus is the wife is spending less because the stores are line up's..

Nothing of any significance will change for us. We're well stocked up on most supplies we need and haven't been to a restaurant in months, so no loss there. The wife hasn't heard officially yet from the Bd. of Ed. whether or not she will be required to go into to work at the school or work from home? (she's in the office) . We'll be at the cabin for the duration doing the cabin thing.

I’m not as far along in the walk of life as most of the posters thus far,

For us, it means kids out of school (more than a week...?), wife maybe out of work (supply teacher)...I work in construction and my current project is classed as critical infrastructure so I think it will continue, although a bit slower in the winter.

As someone said above, not getting together with family or neighbours is the hardest part of all of this. My parents are living on a lake with few neighbours, so having the family over is something they really cherish, been hard on them already.

I lost a good fishing buddy because he's a bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to this stuff so he stays buried in his basement and won't go outside. As for myself, I have to have blood work done about every 2 weeks or so when readings change but that routine has changed significantly because clinics have reduced operations. Other than that, life goes on.

    Zilch change

We opted for home schooling at the beginning of the year so not much changes in that regard. Kids are young so staying home for school is kinda fun. My wife looks after them for the schooling portion of the day, it’s a bit hectic, but she’s a trooper.

I’m a framer by trade so this time of year work usually slows a bit which is refreshing. The colder months are tough to keep the momentum going. The lock down just gives me more time with the family.

As I mentioned in another post, we recently sold our house in Newmarket. It was getting tight with a growing family. I’m not sure what to expect with the market in the new year and with another lockdown.

The first lockdown really got us doing more online shopping for groceries. It has become very convenient. We choose not to brave the stores.

Like everyone else, the biggest bummer is not being able to hang out with family. I usually throw a few bbqs a year and have big family get togethers but this year that hasn’t happened. Christmas will be quiet. We will turn to technology (FaceTime) for our family fix.

Won't really effect me, I get to spend the holidays away from home. Covid restrictions around the world have prevented a replacement so I am stuck.

Very little difference, I don't eat in restaurants or go to cinemas or theatres. I've got enough tools to keep me busy if there's anything to fix or make. Food is stocked up, I cook my own food, I don't buy any of that pre cooked stuff. If I need to unwind, I go outside and enjoy nature.

We had some skype time with the first born son this morning, from Australia. ...It’s Christmas Day there now! ....He might have come home for Christmas ,but not this year.
